I’m Thankful.

With Thanksgiving quickly approaching I thought it might be a good idea to reflect a little on what I’m thankful for.  This is a tradition that my extended family has had for a long time, just going around in a circle saying something we are thankful for.  It’s nothing too serious but I think it’s something good to think about.

I’m thankful first and foremost for my loving family and friends.  I just saw the movie Rachel Getting Married and it made me think about how thankful I am for having a family that I enjoy spending time with because the family in that movie had some serious issues.  It was well done but, man, couldn’t it have been a little more life affirming?  I can watch sad, depressing movies but that was not what I was expecting from that one.

I’m thankful for a warm house in the fast approaching Minnesota winter.  I’m thankful for good music and good movies.  I’m thankful for the opportunity to (hopefully) go to school next year after I graduate.  I’m thankful that we have a new president coming to office in a few months.  I’m thankful for my good health and the good health of my friends and family.  I’m thankful for creative people who can make me laugh.

I’m thankful for this space to write what I feel and not have it censored or edited by anyone but myself.  I’m thankful to those who read this and think about what they are thankful for these days.  Peace.
