Bands I Always Come Back To.
There are a few select bands that, although I may not listen to them every week or even consider them one of my favorite bands at the moment, I can continuously come back to and be totally satisfied. These are the bands that I have based my taste in music on and they are the bands I respect the most. The first one that comes to mind is the Arcade Fire. Although I may not listen to them religiously like I once did, I still can sit down and listen to Funeral or Neon Bible or any of their stuff and be totally content. Another artist is Sufjan Stevens. I was introduced to Sufjan by various members of my family and I have learned to love just about everything that he has done. And again, I don’t listen to Sufjan Stevens every week like I do some other artists but I can always go back and put some Come On Feel The Illinoise! or Seven Swans and be well-pleased.
I think that I continually come back to these artists, more then I do any other, because I feel that these are the ones that got me interested in “indie” music in the first place and because they have had a lasting effect on me, whereas some of the stuff I like now is good but in a month or so will be completely different. These ladies and gentlemen are with me for the long haul.
