A Graphic Novel.

I started reading my first graphic novel the other day.  I’m borrowing “Watchmen”  from a friend of mine because I’ve heard good things about it and I needed something to read.  I know they’re making it into a movie, I saw the trailer before The Dark Knight.  I’m only about a chapter in so I have little bases for criticism.  I’ve never been one to read comic books so I’m learning as I go.  Learning how to read the dialogue and not miss the pictures too.  I find myself skipping over the drawings but then I go back and look and it adds a whole new depth to story.  I think it’s very related to film, graphic novels I mean.  There have been some good ones recently that have been put on the big screen.  V for Vendetta and Sin City to name a few.  I like how the artists actually make it look like the “camera” is panning or zooming in and out.  It’s easy to see that the novel to film transition was made less difficult because a lot of the work was done for them, as far as story boarding and such.  It’s an interesting genre and V for Vendetta is one of my favorites so I might have to pick that one up too.  Peace.
