Day 3

Friday was a very busy day.  In the morning we took the bus down to Wall Street, upon my request.  I was expecting to see more of the action but it turned out to be all tourists and no stock exchange, at least from the outside.  You needed credentials to get inside.  Too bad.  But then we walked over to the World Trade Center Site and saw the construction.  It was a pretty powerful place.  It looked like there was still some of the original structure from the towers there, which surprised me a little.  I was glad to have been able to see the site.

From there we took a shuttle to the Staten Island Ferry and rode that across and back.  Then the boys went back the hotel and the girls went to buy same-day broadway tickets.  My Dad, Stephen, and I went and rested at the hotel for a few hours then jumped on the 4 train up to Yankee Stadium.  When we got off the subway it was raining and the game ended up being delayed for about an hour and a half.  We ate New York Style pizza across the street from the stadium and bought cheap ponchos that proved very useful.  We stayed and watched the Yankees play the Royals but left after the 7th because it was getting late and we wanted to catch the subway back into the Manhattan.  It was a good game and the Royals ended up winning which made it even better.  It was a great day.  The following pictures are all from Friday.  Peace.
