Got to go to New York City yesterday with the photo department to bum around galleries all day. A highlight for me was to see Lars Tunbjork’s show at the Amador Gallery. I really like his book Vinter and I’d really love to see this exhibition in a book.
Another highlight was Nan Goldin’s Scopophilia at Mathew Marks. Such raw intimacy, it’s amazing. Was pretty disappointed by Andreas Gursky’s show at Gagosian. All I could think about was how enormous the files must be and how big of a printer you would need to print them. But I guess they sell?
Got two small books from Printed Matter. One by someone I’d never heard of, Rie Suzuki and the other a Nicholas Gottlund book called Mr. Natural. It was good trip.
