The Daredevil Christopher Wright.
I went to a concert last night at the 400 Bar in Minneapolis. The Daredevil Christopher Wright played a really amazing show. They may fit into the category of indie rock/folk but they definitely have a unique sound. They have an album that they recorded this winter that they’ve been looking to find a label to release it on. I’ve seen this band several times and I have to say that...
Improv Everywhere.
I just found out about this amazing group of performance artists out of New York City. They do some really awesome stuff. Very original. For one, they all got together and planned to simultaneously freeze in place for five minutes. Just freeze and see how people react. Oh yeah, and they did it in Grand Central Station. It’s really funny. I think that if you need to spend another hour...

Concert at the fair.
I saw Gnarls Barkley and Cloud Cult yesterday. It was a really good show. They played at the Minnesota State Fair, at the Grandstand. The weather was looking kind of bad but it held off for the majority of the time. I went with my little brother and his buddy. We got there early and were standing in the second row. Cloud Cult opened at 7:30 and were really great. They played mostly new...
Convention time
Anyone who knows me well, knows that I would probably be the last one to attend a GOP sponsored event. I actually won’t be inside the convention but I will be doing some journalism work outside, talking to protesters and such. This summer I have been working for this online magazine called ThreeSixty. With the RNC coming to town next week, We’ll be busy with a lot of different...

Day 6
This was our travel home day but first we made a stop at one of New York’s most famous eateries: Katz’s Deli. I got an absolutely enormous rueben sandwich that was really good. Then we went out to the airport because we had checked out of our hotel and were all pretty tired. It was a great trip and I’m so glad we went. I hope everyone can make a trip out to that city some...

Day 5
On Sunday we walked through this little market that was on Lexington Ave. I don’t want to call it a farmer’s market but it kind of had that feel however, I’m sure the majority of the food there was not home grown. I had a gyro and my brother got some fried rice. We walked up to Central Park and looked around there for a while. There was a concert going on at the free stage...
Day 4
Saturday we walked down Fifth Avenue and saw all the designer shops and stopped in FAO Schwartz. Later we went to the Museum of Modern Art and saw some really amazing art, a lot of Picasso, Dail, and Warhol. Cool stuff. After MOMA we walked over to Rockafeller Center and got a tour of NBC studios, we saw Conan’s set, the nightly news set and a few others. It was cool and I’m glad...

Day 3
Friday was a very busy day. In the morning we took the bus down to Wall Street, upon my request. I was expecting to see more of the action but it turned out to be all tourists and no stock exchange, at least from the outside. You needed credentials to get inside. Too bad. But then we walked over to the World Trade Center Site and saw the construction. It was a pretty powerful place. It...

A new feature.
I just wanted to draw people’s attention to the new and ever so exciting feature that has arrived at the bottom of every post. It is a comment box! You can click that and add a comment to any of the posts you choose and they will appear for everyone to see. The program that I used was on disqus.com but you don’t need a profile there to leave comments, but make one if you so choose....
Day 2
On Thursday my dad and I woke up early to go tour NYU. We took the subway down and ate breakfast in Washington Square Park which I guess is where they filmed some of the movie I Am Legend. There was an hour long overview of the school and admission options and such and then a tour of the campus. It was really nice and I could see myself going to school there. After that we had lunch at this...

Day One: Travel
Our trip to New York was set to leave Minneapolis at 6:30 on Wednesday morning. And we left our house by 5. Well, we missed our plane. We went to the wrong terminal and it sucked but I think everyone got over it pretty quickly. So our new flight was at like 8pm. We had like 10 hours to kill. That time was spent sleeping on (or under) the benches in the airport and then we went to the Mall of...

Off to New York.
I’m off to New York tomorrow morning for a few days, look forward to a lot of photos and maybe even some video. I think our first full day there will be a morning tour of NYU and Wicked in the evening. It’ll be lots of fun. I’ll leave you with another cool picture from last summer’s trip to Washington. Peace.

A little quiz
Can you name the movie and song (not from the movie) that this line comes from:
“There is a man, a certain man, and for the poor you may be sure that he’ll do all he can. Who is this one? Whose favorite son, just by his action, has the traction magnets on the run? Who likes to smoke? Enjoys a joke? and wouldn’t get a bit upset if he were really broke? With wealth and fame,...

sleepysheep.tv
This is now the domain name for my blog, so change your bookmarks! Easier to remember, eh? And much cooler. Peace.
Something new and exciting.
Today I got the new domain name that this blog will soon be called. It’s called sleepysheep.tv and the new email address, that you may have noticed is at the bottom of my newly laid out web site, is david@sleepysheep.tv. That would be a great place to respond to any of the pictures, videos or blog entries when you feel so compelled. The domain won’t be active for a day or so so...

I can't stop listening to: The National
I first heard this band near the end of the school year and I have been listening ever since. I have two of their albums: Boxer, their most recent, and Alligator. Both are equally amazing in my opinion and I think everyone should check them out. I got Boxer first and couldn’t stop listening to the song Slow Show. I really like the chorus, it goes like this:
“I wanna hurry home to...

The city so nice they named it twice.
On August 13th I will be leaving for New York City. I am very excited for this trip and I think my family and I will have a lot of fun. We have a few things planned but there will definitely be time to relax and time to explore. One thing we plan to do, that pertains to my upcoming senior year, is that we will be visiting a few colleges. I’ve decided that my dream college as of now would...
