Today I went to see Craig Finn do a little promo show at Rough Trade East, a record store on Brick Lane. He played a few songs and signed my cd. I nervously told him I was from Minneapolis and he said he used to live Northeast too which I didn’t know. I like his solo album quite a bit, my favorites on the first few listens are “No Future” and “Terrified Eyes.”

Marble Arch, Edgware Road

I’ve been in London for a week and a half now. I thought I made a post a few days ago updating on the flat hunt but I guess it didn’t post… don’t know about that. Anyway, it’s been a busy week. I’ve got a flat off Edgeware Road near the Marble Arch. It’s a really cool neighborhood, lots of Middle Eastern restaurants and shisha bars. It’s a quick walk to 2 tube stations and to Hyde Park. The week of flat hunting was stressful but we found a good place for a decent price.

Started Monday at my internship, running errands and making press releases mostly. Got directed to super cheap sushi place by the office (got a whole lunch for £2.75!) called Rice Wine Shop. Not a sushi connoisseur but I thought it was really good. Other then that I’ve been trying to cook as much as I can to save money, the hostel I stayed in for the first week had a kitchen so it worked out nicely.

Today was my first day of classes and they both went well. I’m taking 3 classes, a pretty open ended production course, a contemporary photography course and a British politics course. They should be good.

Getting over a cold now and looking forward to having more time to explore. Went on a little walking tour to see some landmarks in central London. Big Ben, the London Eye and whatnot. It was pretty cool, good to see a lot quickly and note which are worth coming back to. Hoping to get to the Tate or the National Gallery this weekend. Peace.

I leave for London on Monday! Unreal.

Spending the semester in studying and working in London. I’ll be doing two days of classes and two days of interning for these guys each week with Fridays off. I’m incredibly excited! I’ve never been to London or Europe so if you’ve been send me cool things to check out.

Made myself a photo portfolio site. Check it out! It’s still under construction but there are things to see there now.
